Toughened glass cannot be cut, drilled or edged once it has been toughened. Every hole, notch and cut-out must be on the order before processing.
Low-iron glass removes the green tint of standard float, which matters on thicker panes and splashbacks.

- Clear, low-iron, tinted and obscure options
- Holes, notches and cut-outs before toughening
- Thicknesses typically from 4mm to 12mm

Regulations for jobs in Seaham
Under Approved Document K, glazing in critical locations (doors, and side panels within 300mm of a door, up to 1500mm above floor level; other glazing below 800mm) must break safely, be robust or in small panes, or be permanently protected. Toughened and laminated safety glass are classified to BS EN 12600. Replacing only the glass in an existing frame is generally treated as a repair rather than notifiable work.
