Trade aluminium bifold doors in Shepherds Bush

Aluminium bifold doors for Shepherds Bush jobs

Flush thresholds give a level transition inside to outside but need a drainage detail outside. Tell us if you need one so the right threshold is supplied.

A traffic door is a single panel that opens like a normal door, so the set does not have to be folded back just to step outside.

• Two to seven panels, folding in or out
• Low or flush threshold options
• Top-hung or bottom-rolling running gear depending on system
• Toughened double or triple glazed units

Measuring tip

The structural opening above a bifold carries the running gear, so confirm the lintel or steel is level and can take the load before you give us final sizes.

Regulations for jobs in Shepherds Bush

Replacement external doors in England should meet a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K under Approved Document L. Glass in doors and side panels below 1500mm is a critical location under Approved Document K, so it must break safely (toughened or laminated to BS EN 12600), be robust or in small panes, or be permanently protected. Doors into new homes also need to meet Approved Document Q for security, which is usually shown with PAS 24. Replacing a door that is more than half glazed is notifiable building work, self-certified through a competent person scheme or approved by building control.
