uPVC tilt and turn windows for Nelson jobs
Tilt and turn windows are a common choice where the outside of the glass cannot be reached, because the sash turns fully into the room for cleaning.
For bedrooms that need an escape window, a tilt and turn sash can give a large clear opening from a single sash. Give us the clear opening you need; the quote shows the clear opening the sash gives, and your installer confirms it meets the escape requirement.
- Concealed or surface hinges depending on the system
- White, colours and woodgrain finishes
- Large sash sizes for escape openings
- Child-safe and restrictor options

Measuring tip
Tilt and turn sashes open into the room, so check that blinds, radiators, deep sills and furniture will clear the sash before you confirm the size.
Regulations for jobs in Nelson
Replacement windows in England should meet Approved Document L: a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K or a Window Energy Rating of band B. Approved Document F expects background ventilation to be no worse than before, which usually means trickle vents. Glazing in critical locations must break safely, be robust or in small panes, or be permanently protected under Approved Document K, which in practice usually means toughened or laminated safety glass. Rooms that need an escape route may need an escape window under Approved Document B. Replacing windows is notifiable building work: the installer self-certifies through a competent person scheme such as FENSA or Certass, or the work goes through building control.
