Replacement windows in England should meet Approved Document L: a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K or a Window Energy Rating of band B. Replacing windows is notifiable building work: the installer self-certifies through a competent person scheme such as FENSA or Certass, or the work goes through building control.

Before anything goes into production you get a written order acknowledgement with sizes, finishes and handing for every item. Check it carefully, because made-to-measure items cannot be returned if the sizes were wrong.
