Triple glazed units for Biddulph jobs
Triple glazed units are thicker and heavier than double glazed units, so the frame must be designed to take them.
A third pane lowers the U-value of the glass. How much of that reaches the whole window depends on the frame as well.
- Warm-edge spacer bars
- Three panes with two gas-filled cavities
- Toughened, laminated and acoustic options
- Common overall thicknesses such as 36mm and 44mm

Regulations for jobs in Biddulph
Under Approved Document K, glazing in critical locations (doors, and side panels within 300mm of a door, up to 1500mm above floor level; other glazing below 800mm) must break safely, be robust or in small panes, or be permanently protected. Toughened and laminated safety glass are classified to BS EN 12600. Replacing only the glass in an existing frame is generally treated as a repair rather than notifiable work.
