Trade triple glazed units in Sandhurst

Triple glazed units for Sandhurst jobs

An acoustic laminated pane in a triple unit can help with traffic noise. Tell us the source of the noise and we suggest a build-up.

A third pane lowers the U-value of the glass. How much of that reaches the whole window depends on the frame as well.

• Low-E coatings on the inner panes
• Toughened, laminated and acoustic options
• Common overall thicknesses such as 36mm and 44mm
• Three panes with two gas-filled cavities

Measuring tip

Check the frame rebate takes the overall unit thickness before you order; most older frames are not deep enough for triple glazing.

Regulations for jobs in Sandhurst

Under Approved Document K, glazing in critical locations (doors, and side panels within 300mm of a door, up to 1500mm above floor level; other glazing below 800mm) must break safely, be robust or in small panes, or be permanently protected. Toughened and laminated safety glass are classified to BS EN 12600. Replacing only the glass in an existing frame is generally treated as a repair rather than notifiable work.
