Trade double glazed sealed units in Christchurch

Double glazed sealed units for Christchurch jobs

Glass in critical locations, such as doors, side panels and low-level glazing, must break safely, be robust or be protected; in practice that usually means toughened or laminated glass. Mark those units on your schedule.

Overall thickness has to match the frame rebate. A 28mm unit will not go into a frame glazed for 24mm, so check before you order.

• Low-E coated inner pane and argon gas fill
• Aluminium or warm-edge spacer bars
• Made to size in common thicknesses such as 24mm and 28mm
• Spacer colours to match frames

Getting a price

List every item on one schedule with sizes in millimetres, width first. Add the finish and options per line and we price each one.

Open a trade account to order at trade prices. We ask for your business details and how you expect to order, and agree terms when the account is set up.

Measuring tip

Measure the glass, not the frame: remove the beads and measure the existing unit, or measure the rebate and deduct the glazing clearance. Give width first, then height, and the overall unit thickness.

Regulations for jobs in Christchurch

Under Approved Document K, glazing in critical locations (doors, and side panels within 300mm of a door, up to 1500mm above floor level; other glazing below 800mm) must break safely, be robust or in small panes, or be permanently protected. Toughened and laminated safety glass are classified to BS EN 12600. Replacing only the glass in an existing frame is generally treated as a repair rather than notifiable work.
