Ordering double glazed sealed units for jobs in Cornwall
Sealed units are made to the exact glass size, so the measurement is the size of the unit itself. When replacing a misted unit, measure the old unit once the beads are off.
Overall thickness has to match the frame rebate. A 28mm unit will not go into a frame glazed for 24mm, so check before you order.
Specification at a glance
- Low-E coated inner pane and argon gas fill
- Manufactured to BS EN 1279
- Made to size in common thicknesses such as 24mm and 28mm
- Aluminium or warm-edge spacer bars
- Georgian bars between the panes
Delivery across Cornwall
Deliveries to Cornwall are booked once your order is in production. The charge is itemised on the quote and the delivery day is confirmed with you in advance.
Building regulations in England
Under Approved Document K, glazing in critical locations (doors, and side panels within 300mm of a door, up to 1500mm above floor level; other glazing below 800mm) must break safely, be robust or in small panes, or be permanently protected. Toughened and laminated safety glass are classified to BS EN 12600. Replacing only the glass in an existing frame is generally treated as a repair rather than notifiable work.
We do not start manufacturing until you have approved the order acknowledgement. It repeats each size, colour and opening direction so you can check it against your survey.
