Building regulations in England

Commercial glazing in England is controlled as part of the wider project, including Approved Document K for safety glazing, Approved Document M for accessible entrances and Approved Document B for fire safety and means of escape. A new or materially altered shopfront usually needs planning permission as well.

Before anything goes into production you get a written order acknowledgement with sizes, finishes and handing for every item. Check it carefully, because made-to-measure items cannot be returned if the sizes were wrong.
