Trade composite doors in Hartley

Composite doors for Hartley jobs

For flats where the front door opens onto a common stair, the door may need to be fire-rated. Fire doors are a separate product and are not supplied as standard composite doors.

Composite doors are ordered by style, colour, handing and frame size. Your quote lists each of those so the door that arrives is the one you specified.

• Matching side panels and toplights
• Range of door styles with or without glass
• Letterplate, knocker, handles and spyhole as specified
• Woodgrain-textured colours, with white inside as an option

Regulations for jobs in Hartley

Replacement external doors in England should meet a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K under Approved Document L. Glass in doors and side panels below 1500mm is a critical location under Approved Document K, so it must break safely (toughened or laminated to BS EN 12600), be robust or in small panes, or be permanently protected. Doors into new homes also need to meet Approved Document Q for security, which is usually shown with PAS 24. Replacing a door that is more than half glazed is notifiable building work, self-certified through a competent person scheme or approved by building control.
