Trade aluminium sliding doors in Saffron Walden

Aluminium sliding doors for Saffron Walden jobs

Sliding doors keep the glass in big uninterrupted panels, which is why they are chosen where the view matters most.

Very large panels can be heavy and awkward to handle on site. We give panel weights on the quote so you can plan lifting and access.

• Toughened double or triple glazed units
• Multi-point locking
• Two, three and four-track configurations
• Heavy-duty rollers sized to panel weight

Regulations for jobs in Saffron Walden

Replacement external doors in England should meet a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K under Approved Document L. Glass in doors and side panels below 1500mm is a critical location under Approved Document K, so it must break safely (toughened or laminated to BS EN 12600), be robust or in small panes, or be permanently protected. Doors into new homes also need to meet Approved Document Q for security, which is usually shown with PAS 24. Replacing a door that is more than half glazed is notifiable building work, self-certified through a competent person scheme or approved by building control.
